Supporting The Good

It's been a hectic year. We are counting down to #GivingTuesday, a day that encourages people to do good, and asking everyone in the Capital Area to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. #ForTheKids

For The Kids

Starting now through Tuesday, November 30th, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area is asking for your support for the kids. For all the crazy news from the past year, a lot of good has happened, right here in our community.

During and post-pandemic, we have served over 600,000 free meals, provided virtual instruction to over 400 Pre-K students, operated 6 summer camps, hosted multiple virtual community events.

In September, we resumed programs, re-opened our buildings, and continued to serve thousands of meals each week. BGCCA operates programs for youth in Prekindergarten, Afterschool, Teen and Summer Camp. We provide a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours.

With your help, we can continue to promote academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles for the kids throughout Albany, Rensselaer, Troy, Cohoes and Watervliet.

Get Involved

Donating for the kids can take many different forms. We could not be more thankful to be supported by this amazing, dedicated, and diligent community.

Join our Making Future's Bright Stocking and Toy Drive

In honor of the Season of Giving, we would like to fill holiday stockings for all club members ages 5-12, and fill a Holiday Sack of Toys for each of our 22 Pre-K classrooms with gifts for each child.  We invite you to celebrate the Joy of the Holidays by donating new unwrapped toys, arts & crafts, puzzles, books, dolls, sporting goods, magic tricks, school supplies, bath & body items, pajamas, mittens, gloves, scarves, socks, treats or anything that would bring happiness and joy to a child!  We are also accepting donations of new and gently used toys, clothing, accessories, small household goods, and other items to create a holiday shop where our children can pick out gifts to give to their family members.  Donations will be accepted at the Troy Clubhouse through Monday, December 14th.  Contact Tracy Moore for further information at 518-274-3781, ext. 2004

Join our Bottle & Can Drive

BGGCA is always looking for intuitive and easy ways for our community to get involved. Started by David Ocasio Ross, Sunmark FCU, one of our simplest, yet effective fundraising methods is collecting return recyclable bottles and cans. Please consider donating your return recyclables by delivering them to our Albany or Troy Clubhouse locations.

One of the greatest gifts you can give is the gift of your time.  There is no time like the present and no present like the time.  If you are interested in volunteering, please either email or take this survey.
