Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) was honored to be the featured charity for 'Kicking It For A Cause' facilitated by Grasshopper Heating & Cooling.
Kicking It For A Cause is a annual kickball fundraiser from Grasshopper Heating & Cooling that took place this year on Tuesday, August 22nd in Halfmoon, NY. BGCCA was honored to be the benefitting charity.
Grasshopper donated $10,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs to start the event! Plus, additional funding was received from team registrations and a 50/50 raffle (the winner generously donated the money back to The CLUB). The Lyricism 101 RV sat at the pavilion providing music to keep the day moving. BGCCA official mascot, Benny the Bunny, was on hand to cheer on the team and inspire participants on and off the field. BGCCA staff and youth proudly played in the tournament, winning the first two games, and losing in the semi-finals to the Doug Neil Insurance Team. Ultimately, the Grasshopper Blue Team won the tournament.
Several of our Club youth were recruited to other teams in later games. Off the field, participants could experience face painting, balloons, ice cream, and a food truck. It was a picture-perfect day!
