Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area held the 2022 Great Futures Gala on the high seas of the Hudson!
On the evening of October 21st, more than 200 pirates, scallywags and guests gathered aboard the Captain JP III for an evening of dinner & drinks and to celebrate the critical work done by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA). Guests were greeted with a 'Welcome Aboard' beverage on the top deck and invited to take pictures with members of the NY Cosplay group, (see the photo galleries below).
Event Video Intro
Down below, we watched the event introduction video (above) featuring CEO Justin Reuter and Chief Development Officer Pat Doyle.
BGCCA took the opportunity to honor two outstanding area organizations with the Community Impact Award going to MVP Healthcare and accepted by Ellen Sax, as well as our Dedication to Youth Award to Death Wish Coffee, with Lindsey Speach accepting.
Two extraordinary employees were honored with our Staff of the Year Award: Jimmy Bulmer, Chief Operating Officer (pictured top-left) and David Gordon, Albany Clubhouse Manager (pictured top-right).
Dinner was served along with a fabulous dessert buffet. DJ Shawn Black kept the music and pirate vibe going. On the mid deck vendors provided sample libations, cartoon drawings were created by Caricatures by Rocky, and guests chanced their luck on raffles for spirits and booty. It turned out to be a beautiful evening for a cruise and everyone left the ship with a smile!
While everyone enjoyed the event, our Treasure Chest Challenge fell just short of our fundraising goal. Will you help us fill our Treasure Chest and continue on our mission to Treasure Our Youth?
