Congratulations to Oluwasegun Tijani, who is Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area's 2024 Youth of the Year! He went one to the state finals held on May 20, 2024, and though he did not win, we are incredibly proud of Olu and his numerous contributions to both the Club and community.

Youth of the Year is the premier recognition program celebrating the extraordinary achievements of Club teens. Club member who earn the Youth of the Year title embody the values of leadership service, academic excellence, and healthy lifestyles. They exemplify the critical impact that Boys & Girls Clubs have on the lives of young people.
Local Clubs recognize members age 14-18 and select a Youth of the Year who then participates in state competitions. State winners receive a $5,000 scholarship and advance to the reginal competitions. Regional winners receive an additional $20,000 college scholarship. Six youth advance to the national competition for a chance at a $50,000 scholarship.
