Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) hosted the opening and closing night of the 2025 Great Futures Gala: Defying Gravity on Thursday, Oct. 30th at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom in Troy, NY.

The event kicked off with a complimentary cocktail party in the Ozdust Ballroom on the 2nd floor. This included lite bites and our signature event cocktail, the Ozmopolitan. Guests mingled with costume characters as portraits were taken by Best Frame Forward. (Scroll down to see the photos!)
Guests made their way down to the Emerald City Ballroom for the dinner and performance portion of the event. Christine Tramontano, BGCCA Board President, gave a warm welcome and introduced the new BGCCA CEO, Patrick Doyle.
The audience enjoyed two video performances: Club performers Briana Jones and Taijon Thomas performed a duet called "For The Love Of The Club" and a video presentation by Club Alumni co-chair Frank DeNucci.
Musical performance by Faheem Johnson.
Tom Quackenbush from Teamsters Local 294 along with Club alumni John Kearney invited support from the audience after the Teamsters donated $10K. Numerous donors rose to the occasion to support BGCCA!
BGCCA presented awards to community partners who go above and beyond in supporting youth services.
The 2025 Community Impact Award goes to Broadview Federal Credit Union.
The 2025 Dedication to Youth Award goes to Scott Earl.

Defying Gravity musical performance by Lauren Shafer.
Guests closed out the evening with an energetic dance party featuring DJ Young Wise and DJ Trixter.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area’s mission is to inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential to become productive, caring and responsible citizens. BGCCA is a highly rated non-profit that offers youth in Albany & Rensselaer counties safe spaces and specialized programs, with caring adults, who help to inspire and offer opportunities for greater futures. Serving 1,000 youth daily from 26 locations and 200,000 meals annually.
