Help Support our Mobile Music Recording Studio
In an effort to reach more youth, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area has developed a mobile music recording studio to be used for community engagement activities and music education programming for youth. The Lyricism 101 studio will provide an outlet to empower our teens through artistic expression allowing their voices to be heard in an engaging and productive manner thus providing an opportunity to become responsible citizens. Participants will not only build self-esteem but will achieve skills in creative writing, business practice, music production, studio engineering, and language development.
Lyricism 101 Mobile is an extension of the current Lyricism 101 program located at the Albany Clubhouse on Delaware Avenue. The program will feature a fully functioning recording studio and DJ setup for “Live” events. Program participants will write, produce and record their own music.
In 2018, BGCCA introduced the Lyricism 101 Program which is designed to cultivate and amplify the powerful voices of teens. It provides them with an opportunity to tell their stories, build community, and express their artistic visions through music.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) needs your support to help feed our children and families.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought uncertainty and disruption to the communities that we serve. In accordance with New York State policy for school closures, our school-based sites where 1,100 children receive daily hot, nutritional meals are currently closed. However, our top priority has not changed: the health and safety of the children who need us most.
To continue serving the needs of our community, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area is utilizing our commercial kitchen to create a mobile meal service which now provides 2,100 breakfasts and lunches to 12 key housing sites in Albany and Rensselaer County. To meet the operational costs for this critical service, our organization is currently using our limited financial reserves. Proper funding could allow us the ability to produce 3,000 meals per day and serve more members of the community who need us most.
We’re calling out to our community superheroes to invest in our cause. Every donation helps, no matter how small. Together, we have the ability to ensure that nobody goes without the nutrition needed to grow and maintain healthy immune systems.
All funds collected will be used to provide meals for families in need, and to meet all operational costs for this critical service.
If you have any questions please contact us at email@example.com
We are still looking for volunteers to aid in the preparation and distribution of these meals. If you are interested in assisting, contact firstname.lastname@example.org
On behalf of our youth, families, and team at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area, thank you for your support!
